The training, which lasts at least two years, is versatile and usually begins as a puppy The furry noses are introduced to their task in a playful manner and learn, for example, to overcome narrow and dark passages or to walk on various terrains and sometimes wobbly surfaces.
In addition, the canines must be undeterred by loud noises or other distractions and have good obedience skills. The most important lesson, however, is that finding a human is rewarding. Therefore, positive reinforcement, praise, play, and reward are paramount in our work with the dogs.

Canine Requirements:
All dogs must provide a full, valid certificate of vaccinations for each and every course.
The canine must be at least 12 months of age at the time of certification testing.
The canine must be in good health, and proof of vaccinations must be provided at the time of testing.
The canine must be of sound physical structure and temperament.
The canine must be of adequate strength and size to negotiate the terrain.
The canine must be friendly and well-mannered
Handlers Requirements:
The handler must produce written training records in the discipline that they are testing.
The handler at the time of certification testing should be in good health.
The canine and handler must pass the Obedience Control Evaluation for Search and Rescue before testing in any discipline.
You will need to have your dog very focused to conclude this part of the course.
